Plan B or Levonorgestrel is an emergency contraceptive pill. Levonorgestrel the active ingredient in this emergency contraceptive pill is a female hormone that prevents the release of an egg from the ovary or ovulation. Even if Plan B has made promising results to those who have taken it, it is not advised as a replacement for the normal birth control pills. It is not also intended for those who are already pregnant, simply because pregnancy has already started. Aside from that it will not guard you from sexually transmitted diseased like AIDS or HIV.
